BTQ Technologies Subsidiary QPerfect Partners with University of Strasbourg to Support France’s First Public Neutral-Atom Quantum Computing Platform

Strasbourg-based quantum software developer QPerfect—a wholly owned subsidiary of BTQ Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq: BTQ / Cboe CA: BTQ)—has entered into a strategic research partnership with the University of Strasbourg. The collaboration supports aQCess (Atomic Quantum Computing as a Service), France’s first publicly accessible neutral-atom quantum computing platform.
Building a Hardware-Accurate Digital Twin with MIMIQ™
Led by co-coordinators Shannon Whitlock and Guido Pupillo at the Centre Européen de Sciences Quantiques (CESQ)—a joint research laboratory of the University of Strasbourg and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS)—the aQCess platform is targeting an array of more than 400 individually controllable ytterbium (Yb) atomic qubits.
Under the agreement, QPerfect is constructing a hardware-accurate quantum digital twin of the aQCess neutral-atom processor using its flagship MIMIQ™ simulation platform:
Circuit-Level Replication: The digital twin mirrors the physical machine's native gate sets, instruction set architecture (ISA), physical atom transport dynamics, and experimentally characterized noise profiles.
On-Premises and Cloud Deployment: Deployed locally at CESQ and as a cloud service, the virtual backend allows multidisciplinary research teams to run, benchmark, and validate algorithms against a realistic system model alongside live hardware execution.
Optimization for Scaling: Co-located in the same facility at CESQ, QPerfect's team is integrating its compilation and error-correction software layers—including its Quantum Logic Unit (QLU™)—directly into the physical hardware control loop as the 400+ qubit system scales online.
Strengthening France’s Sovereign Quantum Strategy
The aQCess initiative brings together a consortium of 18 academic, industrial, and international partners, including 7 research institutes and 2 regional quantum hubs. It is funded under the French National Strategy for Quantum Technologies via the National Research Agency (ANR) Equipex+ grant and the PEPR-Quantique priority research program. By pairing QPerfect's design automation and simulation stack with sovereign European neutral-atom hardware, the partnership aims to lower barriers to entry for commercial enterprises, graduate researchers, and startups working in quantum chemistry, materials science, and optimization.
