Horizon Quantum and Quantum Machines Partner to Advance Real-Time Quantum Calibration

Software infrastructure developer Horizon Quantum Computing (Nasdaq: HQ) and hybrid quantum-classical control provider Quantum Machines (QM) have announced a strategic collaboration to develop embedded calibration technologies for quantum computing hardware. By integrating Quantum Machines’ control systems with Horizon’s software architecture, the partnership aims to create lightweight, real-time calibration routines that reduce system downtime and improve operational stability across complex quantum processors.
The joint R&D initiative will be implemented on Ember-1, Horizon Quantum’s modular superconducting quantum computer testbed. Horizon will leverage Quantum Machines’ OPX1000 quantum control platform—a modular orchestration engine designed to harmonize classical and quantum operations—to execute continuous, low-overhead calibration cycles during normal system operation. This embedded approach is designed to replace lengthy, full-system calibration routines that traditionally disrupt hardware availability as qubit counts scale.
By maintaining dynamic system calibration without taking the processor offline, the collaboration expects to increase operational uptime for users accessing Ember-1 through Horizon’s Triple Alpha integrated development environment (IDE). The embedded calibration framework will also serve as a commercial validation point for Quantum Machines' OPX1000 controller within a deployed superconducting quantum computing environment.
