Enterprise software developer BQP (formerly BosonQ Psi) has secured a strategic investment from IBM Ventures, alongside participation from Venn10 Capital and existing investor Monta Vista Capital. Bringing BQP’s total funding to $8 million, the capital expansion supports the commercial deployment of BQP's flagship BQPhy® platform, transitioning physics-based AI surrogates and complex engineering solvers from design-time simulation into real-time operational workflows.
Headquartered in Syracuse, New York, BQP resolves a fundamental bottleneck in high-performance computing (HPC): traditional physics solvers often leave up to 85% of modern GPU floating-point capacity idle due to legacy algorithmic code. BQPhy acts as a software acceleration layer that optimizes underutilized GPU compute capacity, delivering performance up to 10× faster inside native engineering environments like MATLAB, Python, and Julia without requiring teams to revalidate their workflows. Under a staged roadmap, these exact classical workloads are being configured via BQP's QuantumMAX native solver architecture to transition seamlessly onto hybrid quantum-classical QPUs.
