Infleqtion Secures Three U.S. Department of Energy Genesis Mission Awards

Neutral-atom quantum hardware and software developer Infleqtion, Inc. (NYSE: INFQ) has been selected to lead three projects under the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Genesis Mission. The national initiative combines artificial intelligence, high-performance computing (HPC), and quantum systems across DOE national laboratories to accelerate scientific discovery, energy infrastructure development, and national security capabilities.
Infleqtion's Phase I projects focus on integrating agentic AI and quantum machine learning with neutral-atom QPUs and atomic sensors. The research will be conducted alongside Argonne National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), and the University of Colorado Boulder.
Three Genesis Mission Technical Workstreams
The selected Phase I projects evaluate how AI-driven quantum workflows can solve complex energy and physics problems that exceed classical supercomputing limits:
AI-Optimized Nuclear Circuit Design (with Argonne National Laboratory): Utilizing AI techniques alongside Infleqtion’s Superstaq compilation platform to optimize quantum circuit synthesis for realistic nuclear physics calculations and material structure simulations. Infleqtion
Agentic AI Atomic Sensing (with Brookhaven National Laboratory): Integrating agentic AI models with deployable neutral-atom quantum sensors to enable autonomous calibration and real-time precision measurements in field environments. Infleqtion
Nonlinear Fusion Plasma Dynamics (with LLNL & CU Boulder): Applying quantum machine learning and agentic AI to simulate complex plasma transport and fluid dynamics for nuclear fusion energy reactors.
Capital Stacking and Federal Quantum Policy Momentum
The Phase I Phase-RFA awards follow Infleqtion's recently announced Letter of Intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce for up to $100 million in direct funding to expand domestic neutral-atom manufacturing and packaging capabilities. By pairing its neutral-atom QPU hardware and atomic clocks with agentic AI models across three major national laboratories, Infleqtion aims to establish deployable quantum-HPC workflows for energy grid resilience, positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT), and defense systems.
