IQM Secures €50 Million ($57.4 Million USD) Financing to Scale Superconducting Quantum Operations

IQM Finland Oy has secured a €50 million ($57.4 million USD) financing facility from funds and accounts managed by BlackRock. This capital is designated to accelerate the company’s technology roadmap, fuel ongoing research and development, and support expansion into new global markets. The financing arrives as IQM prepares for its transition to a public company via a proposed merger with Real Asset Acquisition Corp (RAAQ), a move intended to make it the first European quantum computing company to be publicly listed.
The company specializes in full-stack superconducting quantum computers, providing both on-premises hardware and cloud-based access. IQM’s business model emphasizes "sovereign infrastructure," allowing research institutions and high-performance computing (HPC) centers to operate systems directly for localized capability building. The additional resources from the BlackRock facility are expected to lower the company’s overall cost of capital and provide the flexibility needed to advance toward fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures.
Headquartered in Espoo, Finland, IQM maintains a global presence with over 300 employees across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. Its current strategy focuses on meeting the growing demand for on-premises systems from government and enterprise clients seeking full control over their quantum hardware and software stacks. The financing package is intended to strengthen IQM’s market position as it integrates its superconducting systems into broader high-performance computing ecosystems.
