Quantum eMotion and JMEM Tek Partner for Quantum-Secure System-on-Chip Platform

Quantum eMotion Corp. (QeM) has entered a strategic research and development collaboration with Taiwan-based JMEM Tek to develop a next-generation quantum-secure System-on-Chip (SoC). The project represents a combined investment of over $2.5 million (CAD) ($1.8 million USD), supported by up to $600,000 (CAD) ($438K USD) in advisory services and non-dilutive funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). The initiative aims to strengthen semiconductor supply chain resilience and digital sovereignty by embedding security protocols directly into silicon hardware.
The technical core of the project involves building a hardware Root of Trust (RoT) that integrates QeM’s proprietary quantum-grade entropy generation with advanced Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) technology. By utilizing the intrinsic physical characteristics of silicon, the PUF generates a mathematically unique and unclonable identity for each chip. This foundation enables secure boot processes, firmware integrity validation, and lifecycle management for cryptographic keys, protecting systems against hardware tampering, cloning, and future quantum-enabled cyberattacks.
The secure SoC platform is designed for critical infrastructure and high-performance environments, including AI data centers, cloud edge systems, and defense networks. By anchoring trust at the silicon level, the architecture provides a scalable security framework for financial services, healthcare, and blockchain applications. This cross-border partnership between Canadian and Taiwanese firms focuses on delivering post-quantum-ready hardware capable of securing sensitive data flows across the global digital ecosystem.
